Background: Summary

Welcome!

Nilotpal Sinha (b.1960) lives in Kolkata (Calcutta, India), being a Kolkata based artist he is engaged in painting and new media projects during last thirty years. He started his life with a painters' group to exhibit his works in the pavement exhibitions to project artworks for public viewing. Later, he joined major gallery shows, group shows, national shows, solo and few workshops. Also he is founder member of two art journals and artists' group Bengal Art Initiative (BAI).

By profession he started his living as a graphic designer from early life which is existed till today. At present worked as a graphic artist in VISWAYAN: www.viswayan.com, a Bengali cultural portal.

Painter: Self Employed Painter January 1984 – December 2016 (32 years) Kolkata Area, India

Basically I was a self employed painter before joining Bikshan and previous services. After the finishing of the university diploma program I started studio work independently joining self organized exhibitions in Kolkata area and Delhi. I participated so many annual shows of AFA, BAAC, solo and duet shows, National show, few art camps, workshops etc., at the same time did so many freelance jobs such as doll painting to huge sized clay vase painting, murals, cover design, poster design, logo, letter head design, theater set design, pandal (pavilion) decoration, stage crafts, spray-finish artworks, even art teaching in week end art school etc on consignment basis from various small or big companies. Later it converted to the application of digital technology when I got training from Arena Multimedia. After the completion of the computer course I conducted a class on Multimedia for two years in a home based class room atmosphere for special caring to the students and many of them undoubtedly worked in the market very successfully. Still the day I do the job as freelancer which is parallel to the job of Bikshan.

Graphic Artist (Bikshan) January 2000 – Present (16 years 6 months)
Kolkata Area, India.

http://www.viswayan.com (viswayan means globalization) is an official Bengali Cultural Portal of Bikshan which contains a biggest database on Bengali cultural product-info, such as Books, CD, DVD, Artifacts, Folk items, Crafts, Garments etc. and various information including a web magazine. Language: Bengali. I am engaged here (Present 16 years 6 months) as a Painter & Graphic Artist from the very beginning where I have to maintain all visual development support which is exclusively related to the manifestation and orientation of the portal Viswayan that was launched by the founders of the company, Bikshan in the year 2000. Since this is a question of separate and different cultural identity and language barrier that I have to thematically and conceptually become alert about the visual development for creating webpage elements such as header, buttons, special images, logo, motifs, banner, illustration or drawing etc., otherwise it may disqualify to fall into an identity crisis at any moment. So I have to do everything after a thorough observation and thinking obviously consulting to the content writers. Later the graphic image processing is going on using soft-wares that are industrially supported; sometimes hand drawn experiences are also needed to fulfill the target parallels. I did online jobs from foreign companies under the co-ordination of Bikshan that were image processing jobs (near about 25 thousand) and illustrations on insects (near about 100 drawings) during two years nearly. The same has to be introduced in print media job which is another time taking task that are processing layouts or artworks according to industry skill and rule and finally I have to take a full responsibility up to the production of the end product. Here also the industry supported graphic soft-wares are used generally. Beside these, I have to make animated intros or web animations or interactive multimedia program or authoring for the necessity of the company, basically that were required in launching period much more. In relation to this I do the same in the market as freelance jobs that are displayed in a website http://blogarudesign.blogspot.in as specimens including major specimens of http://www.viswayan.com . At present I have started to develop websites creating a web team to deliver the product to my target audiences who are art and art related people such as http://www.globalthek.com, http://www.adlandindia.com and I am owner of few personal blogs (linked to 17 other Social networks, such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Path,  etc.) which one is nilotpalsinhadotme: http://nilotpalsinhadotme.wordpress.com and others are BanglaBlog: http://neelseen.wordpress.com and http://neelseen.blogspot.in , BanglaBlogaru: http://banglablogaru.wordpress.com , myWorks: http://blogarudesign.blogspot.in  etc.
